Mrs. Hammond

Good morning!  I am so proud of many of our students.  Several kiddos have completed EVERY assignment including the art and Flipgrid assignments as well as come to each "meet" session.  You are heroes in my book!  Keep up the great work!

The district is asking that ALL students complete ALL assignments.  If there are reasons your child cannot complete their assignments (lack of internet, not sure where to find the plans, no computer, needs more support with learning, due dates need to be extended, "completing" the assignments but not sure how to digitally turn in), please contact me with any barriers so I can help to eliminate them.

Stay safe and healthy!  I'm missing your kiddos so much!  Give them my love and hugs!

Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. Hammond

I'm excited to introduce myself!  This is my 12th year of teaching.  11of those years have been here at David W. Long.  I have had the pleasure of teaching 3rd grade for many years, 5th grade for 3 years, and a 4/5 combo.  Prior to teaching, I was a substitute teacher, permanent substitute, and a teacher's aide.

I have a beautiful daughter, Gabriella, who is a sophmore this year and an avid volleyball player.  I also have a new 2nd grader Brayden, who attends DWL and has a love of all sports.  My 4 year old angel, Cody, lives in heaven and my twin 15 year old step-children, Ryan and Kadee, live in Texas with their mom.

When I'm not teaching, I enjoy cooking, reading, and spending time with my kids.  My family loves to camp and ride quads, which we try to do as often as possible.  In addition, we love swimming at home or at the beach, going to Sea World, playing the Wii, or just spending time together!

Welcome to 3rd grade!  I'm confident we will have a great year!
